Business Development Director, International (Spain based)

This is a senior role within the Business Development team to originate and develop high quality project opportunities in the international industrial heat market and develop them towards final investment decisions (FID). You will lead a cross-functional team to bring credible, large-scale industrial decarbonization projects to life. You’ll also leverage your expertise to help evolve Antora’s deal-team playbook for high-performance, efficiency and productivity. Projects will initially be internationally located, with focus in Spain and/or Australia, but over time may be in other markets including the US as well. This role prefers candidates that operate 4+ days per week from the San Jose, CA office when not traveling.
Materials R&D Lab Technician
San Jose, CA
Antora Energy is seeking a Materials R&D Lab Technician to join our materials development team at our headquarters near San Jose, CA. In this hands-on role, you will partner directly with engineers to execute high-temperature experiments using bench-top furnaces and supporting lab equipment — work that is central to developing the novel materials inside Antora’s thermal energy storage systems.
You will be responsible for setting up and running tests, operating instrumentation and data acquisition systems, and producing clear, thorough documentation of every experiment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced hardware R&D environment, is meticulous about data quality, and takes pride in keeping a lab running smoothly.
Plant Technician I
Big Stone City, South Dakota
Antora is seeking a self-driven and passionate Plant Technician I to join our plant team and help deliver zero-carbon industrial heat and power with Antora’s thermal battery technology. In this role, you will support the outside operations of our thermal energy storage and boiler systems while helping maintain plant systems during installation, commissioning, and operations.
The Plant Technician I will work closely with internal engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to safely construct, commission, and operate first-of-a-kind industrial installations of the Antora thermal battery. This is a hands-on role for someone who is energized by learning in the field, takes pride in safe and reliable plant operations, and wants to contribute directly to the demonstration of a breakthrough long-duration energy storage technology.
Senior / Staff Mechanical Engineer, Fluid Systems
San Jose, CA
Antora is seeking a self-driven and passionate Senior or Staff Mechanical Engineer, Fluid Systems to join our Product Development Team. In this role, you will own the design, analysis, and validation of critical subsystems that make Antora’s thermal battery possible. Your work will directly accelerate the demonstration and deployment of a first-of-a-kind long-duration energy storage technology.
This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role where you’ll work across disciplines to scope, design, and refine mechanical systems from concept through prototyping, testing, and production. You’ll also help build the processes, standards, and culture that enable our team to deliver at scale.
You should be excited to pair strong first-principles engineering with modern tools, including AI-enabled workflows where they meaningfully improve speed, insight, or iteration quality. Just as important, you’ll bring the judgment to validate outputs, challenge assumptions, and keep engineering rigor at the center of every decision.
Senior Controls & Software Engineer
San Jose, CA
Antora is seeking a Senior Controls & Software Engineer to own the integration of the control systems and software that power our Thermal Energy Storage (TES) modules, industrial boilers, and complex balance-of-plant (BoP) systems.
This is a high-impact, site-based role for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of physical hardware and digital logic. You won’t just be maintaining legacy systems; you will be architecting the brain of a first-of-a-kind energy technology. We are looking for a start up mindset who leverages modern tools to accelerate traditional industrial automation workflows, using AI to streamline code generation, automate documentation, and rapidly troubleshoot complex system behaviors.
This role is strongly preferred to be located full time in San Jose, California but open but, remote considered with 25% travel.
Senior Manufacturing Operations Engineer
St. Mary’s, Pennsylvania
Antora Energy is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Operations Engineer to serve as our first on-site operations presence at a supplier facility in Pennsylvania. The supplier operates high temperature furnaces that process material that is then integrated into Antora’s thermal energy storage systems.
Because this program is new, you will build the operational foundation from the ground up: writing SOPs, defining the end-to-end material flow, establishing quality criteria & tracking, and implementing preventative maintenance schedules. Once production begins, you will own day-to-day execution — coordinating across the supplier’s operators, maintenance crews, engineering, quality, EH&S, and logistics teams to ensure Antora’s material moves safely, on spec, and on time.
This is a high-autonomy role. You will be Antora’s eyes, ears, and decision-maker on site, while staying tightly connected to the broader Operations team at our San Jose headquarters.
Senior R&D Test Engineer
San Jose, CA
Antora is seeking an experienced Senior R&D Test Engineer to lead the development and execution of high-value test programs that de-risk the next generation of our thermal energy storage and combined heat and power systems. This person will lead a small team to execute sub-scale and full-scale investigations across Antora’s TES modules and balance of plant, translating product development goals into safe, well-instrumented, and actionable experiments. In addition to driving technical execution, this role will help shape the test infrastructure, operating systems, and team culture needed to scale R&D test operations efficiently. The work will directly influence key product decisions, demonstration milestones, and Antora’s path to commercialization in new markets.
