Channel Sales Manager

Metrus is seeking a Channel Sales Manager who will be an integral and high-impact member of the go-to-market team. The Channel Sales Manager who will identify, qualify, and recruit channel partners, followed by selling Metrus’ solutions to channel partners in their effort to develop decarbonization projects for whom Metrus’ financing platform is the enabler. Channel partners include large energy performance contractors (ESCOs), regional ESCOs, specialty contractors (lighting, mechanical, etc.) and anyone else selling energy efficiency solutions.

The Channel Sales Manager will work together with Metrus’ Field Sales, Operations and the channel partner to drive new opportunities. Metrus’ is currently seeking Channel Sales Managers for the mid-west, west, southeast and Texas. Team members must reside in their territory and be willing to travel to meet with customers, partners, and Metrus team members; travel could be up to 50%. Within Metrus, the role will report to the Vice President of Channels.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead channel partner facing activity to generate new project opportunities including:

  • Understanding the partner’s corporate strategy, people-network, incentive structures
    • Working to multi-thread via multiple relationships
    • Train them to position our proposition
    • Co-develop marketing content and programs
    • Assist with project identification and qualification
    • Interface with pricing
  • Develop the channel partner network in your territory via cold-calling, networking and other strategies.
  • Coordinate interaction between the Metrus field sales team and the channel partner
  • Develop a deep understanding of Metrus’ products and services
  • Follow Metrus’ project development process, including CRM best-practices
  • Stay up to date on industry developments and competitors
  • Collaborate with colleagues to generate pipeline and launch new products
  • Synthesize customer feedback and market trends back to Metrus’ leadership
  • Represent Metrus at industry events and conferences
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process

Director of Business Development (Field Sales)

Metrus is seeking a Director of Business Development who will be an integral and high-impact member of the go-to-market team; and who will collaborate with customers and partners in their effort to develop decarbonization projects and for whom Metrus’ financing platform is the enabler. The role will focus on selling Metrus’ Sustainable Energy Services Agreement (SESA) to customers in the following sectors: commercial & industrial, private healthcare, and private higher education. The role will work together with a customer’s engineers, sustainability office, and finance office, as well as third-party construction firms. Team members may reside anywhere in the continental US but must be willing to travel to meet with customers, partners, and Metrus’ team members. Such travel could be up to 50%, although it will not be prescribed nor formulaic, but instead performed as needed. Within Metrus, the role will report to the Senior Vice President of Sales, who, themselves, is a member of the Leadership Team and who reports to the CEO.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead customer-facing activity that results in projects being financed via Metrus’ SESA. Once in a steady state, 4-7 projects being closed per year is on-target, where such projects, on average, deploy $2M+ in funds.
  • Self-generate prospects through one’s own network and other organic business-development activity
  • Receive prospects from Channel Partners and treat them with exceptional service so as to close such projects and strengthen Channel relationships
  • Develop a deep understanding of Metrus’ products and services
  • Follow Metrus’ project development process, including CRM best-practices
  • Stay up to date on industry developments and competitors
  • Collaborate with colleagues to generate pipeline and launch new products
  • Synthesize customer feedback and market trends back to Metrus’ leadership
  • Represent Metrus at industry events and conferences
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process
