Quality Engineer

Senior Facilities Technician

  • Executes daily, monthly, quarterly facilities & equipment inspections/maintenances
  • Acts as a contact while on shift for any building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies, and repairs)
  • Supervises contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications
  • May act as project coordinator for all size projects including large scale repair and new facility projects
  • Solicits bids and quotes from vendors
  • Monitors and replaces light bulbs in all assigned facilities, as needed
  • Makes minor plumbing repairs, as necessary
  • Coordinates and assists with departmental and employee moves
  • Preforms basic electrical work and resolves when an electrician is required
  • Performs maintenance duties as assigned by the facilities manager
  • Carries out work orders in a timely manner per our computer maintenance management system
  • Monitors the building automation system to ensure all facilities equipment is running without issues
  • Works directly with EH&S team to ensure a safe workplace, manage fire life safety systems and hazardous waste programs
  • Works with equipment maintenance team on projects regarding Facility and Manufacturing / R&D

Equipment Engineer, Senior Member of Technical Staff

  • Drive design, development, and commissioning ramp of complex and custom high speed automated manufacturing equipment, including creation of equipment specifications.
  • Tests and validates new designs and equipment.
  • Lead the installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance planning of manufacturing equipment.
  • Creating equipment SOP’s and documentation supporting LOTO and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Maintain current records on equipment manufacturers’ technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues.
  • Establish spare parts list for inventory, research second source options to support equipment engineering requirements.
  • Establish CIP (continuous improvement process), programs and solutions for increasing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process.
  • Provide technical/engineering support to the equipment maintenance team for repairs and process organizations.
  • Work with equipment vendors to ensure tool support is being provided during line down situations.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for complex issues and address root cause analysis utilizing 8D and FMEA evaluations.
  • Supports WBS and project management skills utilizing MS Office applications.
  • Establish a TPM (total preventative maintenance) program for equipment.

Procurement Internship

  • Analyze supplier risk assessments and draft risk mitigation options / recommendations for the company
  • Conduct market research to assist in new supplier identification – both for long-term purchase needs and upcoming Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quotation (RFQ) events
  • Draft an updated contracting process and upload key documents to support contract lifecycle management
  • Develop and implement procurement process improvements, coordinating with multiple internal teams to align on expectations, requirements and best practices
  • Work on establishing a preferred supplier program, including the development of metrics to assess supplier performance and quality
  • Assist the Procurement team with drafting and executing major RFPs and RFQs, including specifications and requirements gathering and pricing / supplier analysis and working in person with leaders to support these activities

  • In accordance with all safety policies and procedures, you will collaborate with scientists and engineers to support their experiments.
  • You will help execute materials processing for R&D experiments.
  • You will build ceramic coatings on substrates on R2R coaters and transition them into battery material films using high volume web processing and pouch cells, and QuantumScape proprietary devices per SOPs or with scientists’ oversight.
  • You will detail daily experiments and communicate completion status using MS Office applications and an internal website.
  • You will notice and give feedback for anomalies or unexpected results.

Principal Manufacturing Engineer

Join us on our mission as we transform energy storage to enable a more sustainable future. We are looking to add a Principal Manufacturing Engineer, Principal Member of Technical Staff (PMTS) to our Cell Engineering and Process Development team. This individual will be responsible for developing tools and techniques at the cell assembly level to improve the manufacturability of our solid-state lithium-metal batteries. This work includes designing new processes for cell assembly and experimental validation of these new approaches, equipment troubleshooting and issue triage, and tooling design and testing. Experience working with electrochemical energy storage devices such as lithium-based batteries or similar technology is highly desired.
