Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer
Greer, SC (On-site)
The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and continuous improvement of the supplier base supporting EV battery module production. This individual will own supplier development strategy, drive resolution of complex quality issues, and serve as the primary technical interface between Proterra Powered and its manufacturing partners across busbars, castings, adhesives, stampings/forming, machined components, injection-molded housings, and related module commodities.
Plant Quality Manager
Greer, SC (On-site)
The Plant Quality Manager is a critical operations leader responsible for owning plant quality end-to-end — strategy, execution, and results. This role leads all aspects of quality management within an EV battery manufacturing facility, ensuring products meet internal specifications, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory and safety standards. The Plant Quality Manager drives a culture of continuous improvement, builds and sustains high-performing quality teams, and serves as the key quality partner to production, engineering, supply chain, and customers.
This is a highly visible, floor-present leadership role. Success requires the ability to operate simultaneously at a strategic level — designing and executing the plant quality strategy — and at a hands-on level, actively engaging on the production floor to identify defects, drive root cause resolution, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
Greer, SC (On-site)
Proterra is seeking an Embedded Systems Software Engineer to join the Battery Management Systems (BMS) team in a field reliability and current product support capacity. This role is focused on sustaining and improving production BMS software through diagnostics implementation, calibration, and hands-on field issue resolution — ensuring deployed battery systems continue to perform safely and reliably throughout their operational life.
The ideal candidate brings 2–3 years of experience in embedded software development within automotive, EV, or battery systems, with practical knowledge of BMS diagnostics, CAN/UDS communication protocols, and calibration toolchains. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to build deep expertise in BMS sustainment and field engineering within a high-impact electrification program.
This is a role that offers direct engagement with deployed battery systems in the field, close collaboration with manufacturing and service teams, and a clear path to deeper BMS application development as the engineer grows within the organization.
Sr Sustaining Engineer, Battery Design & Architecture
Greer, SC (On-site)
This engineering position will provide design-focused support and technical issue resolution for our battery products that are entering or are already in production. As a member of the Sustaining Engineering organization, you will work in a lead role on the investigation and improvement of products with key cross functional teams to perform failure analysis, identify design improvements, create the design updates, test to requirements, and document and release to manufacturing. Implementation of design changes will follow our engineering change order (ECO) and change management (CRB/CCB) processes.
Cross Functional Remanufacturing Technician
Greer, SC (On-site)
This role supports both battery remanufacturing operations and field service needs. Primary responsibilities include repairing and rebuilding battery packs, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, performing root cause analysis, and documenting work for traceability. The technician collaborates with engineering and production teams to develop repair procedures and improve processes while maintaining safety and 5S standards. As needed, the role also supports field service by performing on-site diagnostics, repairs, and customer training.
Safety Specialist II
Greer, SC (On-site)
The Safety Specialist II is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining health and safety programs within a manufacturing environment. This role leads site-wide EHS compliance efforts, including OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI standards, manages EHS metrics and reporting systems, conducts inspections and risk assessments, and supports incident investigations and corrective actions. The Safety Specialist partners closely with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to proactively identify hazards, support change management, deliver training, and drive continuous improvement to ensure a safe, compliant, and high-performing workplace.
Senior BMS Cell Algorithm Design Engineer, Battery Pack Design and Architecture
Greer, SC (On-site)
The Embedded System team is responsible for defining, designing, and testing battery pack power electronics controls features and functions for all Proterra products. It is also responsible for maintaining and supporting current production programs to provide design-focused support and technical issue resolution.
As a member of this engineering team, you will work in engineering support role who is responsible for driving the cell algorithm controls design, cell limits on embedded subsystem architecture, design documentation, and working with manufacturing engineering to design cell quality metrics to ensure that we follow entire product development cycle. This role combines deep electrochemical characterization and controls engineering expertise with strong systems thinking, cross-functional leadership, and a drive for innovation and product excellence. You will be the component manager for BMS application layer/cell integration and support controls designs from the concept through production, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, thermal, vibration, structural, and manufacturability requirements.
