Sungrow Electric is expanding its commercial presence across the Americas. We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager for the North and Latin America markets to lead our regional business development for oil-immersed transformers, dry-type transformers, and compact substations.
In this hands-on individual contributor and team leadership role, you will focus on market strategy formulation, customer acquisition, and revenue growth for utility-scale and industrial power equipment. You will serve as a key commercial and technical bridge between local customers, regional project stakeholders, and our manufacturing headquarters in China. A major part of the role involves independently developing sales plans, identifying high-value project opportunities in renewable energy and data center sectors, and driving long-term partnerships with grid operators, EPCs, and industrial clients.
We are looking for a strong commercial leader with deep industry connections, proven sales execution in the U.S. electrical power market, and a track record of securing major transformer and substation equipment orders.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy Development & Market Planning
- Independently develop overall sales strategies, market promotion plans, and annual sales targets for the Americas market, focusing on core products such as oil-immersed transformers, dry-type transformers, and compact substations.
- Analyze local power equipment market demand, industry trends, competitive dynamics, and market access regulations in the Americas. Continuously refine sales tactics and product positioning to increase regional market share.
- Oversee overall profit, sales volume, and market growth for the Americas business, achieving annual and phased sales performance targets.
Core Customer Development & Key Account Management
- Develop and maintain core local customer groups in the Americas, including U.S. grid operators, renewable energy EPC firms, renewable energy investment companies, professional electrical distributors, large electrical engineering groups, and industrial end-users.
- Focus on expanding business in emerging sectors such as U.S. wind power, energy storage, photovoltaic generation, and AI data center power projects – identifying project opportunities and securing long-term supply agreements.
- Lead high-level customer negotiations, business coordination, brand promotion, and long-term strategic partnership management, building stable, high-quality customer relationships.
Team & Project Management
- Lead and mentor the local Americas sales engineering team, manage daily sales activities, track project progress, and coordinate team resource allocation to improve overall sales effectiveness.
- Oversee end-to-end management of major projects, including requirements gathering, solution validation, price negotiation, bid coordination, order fulfillment, and post-sales support.
- Facilitate communication between local customers in the Americas and the manufacturing headquarters in China – relaying market requirements and product improvement suggestions, and assisting the factory in optimizing products to meet Americas industry standards.
Industry Resource Integration & Brand Promotion
- Integrate local industry resources, participate in industry exhibitions, seminars, and association events, and expand industry channels and resource networks.
- Build and enhance the brand influence of the company’s power equipment in the Americas market, increasing brand recognition in the renewable energy and power infrastructure sectors.
