QuantumScape is seeking a motivated Quality Engineer Intern for our Quality Engineering team. You will be playing a vital role in ensuring that clean/dry rooms are compliant with clean room compliance protocols and standards, contributing to particle study and providing short term and long term solutions in mitigation of particle accumulation in the clean room environments, ensuring that documentation are controlled through the document control process, monitoring critical to quality specifications and ensure excursions and/or variations are being addressed through 8D process.

Senior Data Automation Engineer

Lead and support the integration of the MES system with external systems and automated equipment including process equipment, process control systems, data storage warehouses, and analytical analysis software. Facilities Engineer Intern

We are seeking a motivated intern to join our facility engineering team. You will work on a small team to assist with the central utility plant monitoring, troubleshooting and procedure development. The position requires a background in mechanical system concepts, as well as the interpersonal skills to engage and assist technicians and engineers within QuantumScape.

Senior Manager, Solid-State Battery Development

  • Lead critical projects of QuantumScape’s all-solid-state battery (ASSB) development, including
  • Develop large area all-solid-state battery stacks, maintaining up-to-date overall process flow
  • Manage materials/tool vendors, assist with budgeting and purchasing
  • Scale-up planning
  • Establish and track project timeline, craft the procedures used to guide projects from kick-off through successful completion

What you will do:

· Lead collaborative efforts to convert low-throughput, manually operated inspection solutions (optical, x-ray, ultrasound, and other advanced methods) into integrated and automated measurements solutions in high-throughput settings.

· Lead high-throughput measurement system development, procurement, and deployment/integration.

· Manage the complete lifecycle of metrology projects, including gathering requirements, identifying and validating solutions, performing or assisting with installations, planning improvements and maintenance.

Cell Test Technician

Responsibilities:

Cathode R&D Intern

Your responsibilities will include understanding the limits of our material system and developing solutions to overcome those limits. You will learn how different materials impact battery performance. This role is inherently hands-on, in lab and requires a strong understanding of data analysis and experimental expertise.

  • Carry out experiments to identify materials for high energy density batteries in our SJ labs

Analytical Cell Projects Intern

  • Work with our teammates to conduct hands-on experimental tests to characterize physical and chemical properties of a variety of gas, liquid, and solid phase samples.
  • Understand acquired data with professional interpretation and analysis.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of relevant testing operations when necessary.
  • Collaborate with teammates and/or internal customers for other in-house analytical tests when necessary.

Materials Process Intern

  • Collaborate with other team members in a wide range of activities, including, but not limited to data collection and analysis,  execution or sample preparation for: high Temperature process,  failure analysis, material, surface, electrochemical,  mechanical characterizations onsite at our San Jose labs
  • Support development and documentation of procedures and processes needed
