ESG – Senior Manager | Remote

The ESG Senior Manager plays a critical role in setting and executing the vision, objectives, and plan for the company’s corporate responsibility strategy. The position will be the ESG Champion and Specialist for the company, playing a crucial role in supporting the integration of environmental, social, and governance principles into the business strategies and operations of our organization.

This role serves to develop, create, and lead strategic programs that embower ESG capabilities throughout the organization with a focus on the Social aspect in alignment with our Company Mission and Vision. Critical responsibilities will include conducting thorough ESG risk assessments, collaborating with internal teams to develop sustainable practices, and ensuring compliance with relevant ESG frameworks and standards.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sustainable business strategies that align with ESG goals and objectives. Consider ESG goals with attention to factors such as cost effectiveness, feasibility, and ease of integration with other company programs.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the organization’s progress toward ESG targets and regularly report on achievements.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of environmental, social, and governance factors affecting the company’s operations, identifying potential risks and opportunities. Execute against and maintain program initiatives to improve scores / rating.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, customers, and community groups, to understand their expectations and concerns related to ESG performance.
  • Ensure business practices programs meet requirements that are environmentally, socially and governance friendly. Handle compliance audits into the ESG program.
  • Implements an ESG council and advocates for its initiatives.
  • Prepare and facilitate the disclosure of relevant ESG information in reports, ensuring transparency and compliance with regulatory requirements. Promotes organizations ESG policies and programs to internal and external stakeholders. Implement a framework for external ESG disclosure, supporting communication of success stories and case studies.
  • Conduct training sessions to enhance the understanding of ESG principles among employees and foster a culture of sustainability within the organization.
  • Stay abreast of evolving ESG regulations and standards, ensuring the organization remains in compliance and adapts to emerging requirements. Continuously research and internally communicate emerging ESG trends, evolving the ESG program to meet stakeholder and market expectations.
  • Mobilize employees by raising awareness, creating opportunities for engagement, and facilitating community relations.
  • Serve as the primary company contact person for emerging trends and programs on ESG topics.
  • Assist in implementing shareholder engagement plans and drafting of prep materials for management meetings with ESG funding strategies.
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships with executives, senior leaders, and employees at every level to be viewed as a trusted business partner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple and changing priorities while maintaining strong focus on execution and results.
  • Ability to energize usage, efficiency, climate change, and waste reduction strategies. • Knowledge of fair pay and living wages statistics.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including but not limited to SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Skilled in project management, risk management, and environmental regulations. • Skilled in corporate governance and compliance.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 10+ years of experience developing, implementing, and leading ESG initiatives.
  • 1+ years of experience in conducting internal audits and management responsibility.
  • 1 + years of experience collecting and analyzing KPIs to develop actionable insights and support reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • MBA or post graduate degree
