Own the Room: Mastering Executive Presence

Professional Development Workshop

March 8th | 12 PM – 1:30 PM EST | 9 AM- 10:30 AM PST | Virtual

Have you ever felt shut down, interrupted, not taken seriously, or tuned out when you speak in meetings or any business conversation?  While women have made progress in many ways and yet, we continue to work hard to have our voices heard.  These challenges are everywhere, and, especially prominent in male-dominated companies.

We will help you learn about asserting oneself to be heard and balance being assertive vs. being perceived as aggressive.  And join us to improve our ability to speak up in meetings, be true to ourselves and present our expertise.  We will work on finding the “balance” in our presence (being too submissive vs too aggressive). We will have practice improving our balance though body-based mindfulness.

Each woman ‘avoids’ being true to themselves a bit differently.  We’ll learn some ways this can look, talk about self-sabotaging habits, invite you to identify some of your habits, and explore how to ‘interrupt the pattern’ or how to not do the thing you usually do that diminishes your expertise.

Women face many barriers in male-dominated industries.  How can you create a space where you can thrive even during times of conflict?  Changing your mindset on conflict to one of enriching relationships by vocalizing the impact of minimizing and derailing behaviors can change the course of even the most difficult relationships.   Challenge yourself to create a space where you feel confident confronting the status quo and changing the dynamic can help you tackle tough interpersonal situations with confidence and find yourself on a path to self-assurance.

MEET OUR SPEAKERS

LeeAnn Mallorie

LeeAnn Mallorie, Founder of Guts & Grace Leadership, began her career as an executive coach in 2006, working with women leaders and teams from around the globe. Yet she soon found something was missing—the body. This led her on a personal journey of physical, mental, and spiritual healing, to eventually embrace the more feminine side of leadership. Committed to walking her talk, she brought these lessons back to her clients in the corporate, non-profit and government sectors, with surprisingly positive results.

Today, LeeAnn specializes in bringing feminine wisdom and diverse cultural values into business, as keystone to solving some of our world’s stickiest problems. Her playful weaving of cutting edge science and ancient wisdom will take you on a journey of unexpected and necessary evolution—one that is required for any woman who wants to make a bigger impact without losing herself along the way. Inspired by her personal work with meditation, somatics, sacred voice activation, plant medicines, nature-based ritual and ecstatic dance, as well as deep science, her events spark creativity and innovation. Using practical embodiment tools, she helps attendees bridge the gap between the hard-driving logical mind and the deeper wisdom of the soul.

LeeAnn believes that for a woman leader to play at the top of her game, she needs to embrace her whole self: body, mind, emotions and spirit. Her book, Guts & Grace, is the roadmap for how to release internalized, patriarchal programming and truly bring your best self to work.
