Intern, Sustainability

MBA. Los Angeles • Remote (United States)

The Summer Graduate Intern, Sustainability will primarily support EVgo’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives. The intern will be involved in the evaluation of EVgo’s ESG efforts and the identification of future opportunities to augment data collection and reporting. The role will also include other sustainability, investor and communications-related projects and research as needed.  Internship duration is 12 weeks, up to 29-hours per week. Preference will be given to candidates in the Los Angeles area.

Responsibilities:   

  • Support creation of a holistic sustainability roadmap and strategy for EVgo on ESG reporting.
  • Conduct industry research on best practices for ESG and corporate sustainability and make internal recommendations.
  • Assist with process improvements, SOP development and templates to document policies and procedures regarding ESG.
  • Develop strategic and practical recommendations to bolster EVgo’s ESG efforts across functions and departments.
  • Engage with multiple internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to inform strategy recommendations.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Intern, Market Development & Public Policy

Masters/grad level. Washington DC • Remote (United States)

EVgo’s Market Development and Public Policy team is seeking a graduate-level summer intern to support its policy work throughout the U.S. The intern can expect to learn about public policy issues related to transportation electrification. The intern must have strong writing and research capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to take complex topics and distill them for internal and external audiences.

While graduate level students are preferred, EVgo will also consider undergraduate students with demonstrated work and/or extracurricular experience relevant to energy, transportation, engineering, the environmental field, or public policy. Internship duration is 12-weeks, up to 29-hours per week, with preference for candidates in the D.C. area.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research related to policy proposals, funding programs, regulatory dockets, codes and standards developments related to transportation electrification in support of the Market Development and Public Policy team.
  • Monitor the federal register, rate filings, state legislative action, agency regulatory processes, trade press, and other sources and flagging key takeaways for EVgo.
  • Support development of public comments, PowerPoint presentations, briefing memos, and other policy-related deliverables.
  • Assist in project management and internal reporting.
