Inventory Quality Assurance Technician | EV Connect | Lake Forest, CA

EV Connect is looking to hire an inventory Quality Assurance Technician to support Customer Operations. This role will have dual responsibilities by managing EV Connects’ in-house Inventory and providing technical Quality Assurance testing and setup of EV electronic stations and components. This individual will work directly supporting our field service team in the shipping, tracking and refurbishment of parts and EV charging stations. This position offers significant growth opportunities into the world of e-mobility. This position is full time, 08:00 – 17:00 PST in-house.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and improve inventory Quality Assurance and Control process.
  • Help coordinate and maintain an Inventory Management System.
  • Coordinate and ship spare parts from our EVC office and nationwide 3PLs within the defined SLA timelines.
  • Track all parts and hardware inventory in all warehouses and tech inventories.
  • Test and review any parts or EVSE stations returning from the field within our EVSE Lab.
  • Collaborate with hardware partners to RMA and refill inventory.
  • In collaboration with our Product and Operations team, develop test scripts and design testing processes to support hardware, firmware, and software certification for EV charging equipment.
  • Participate in the execution of the certification testing for new hardware and software as well as new firmware releases.
  • Document testing procedures and results and maintain documentation libraries. Based upon field performance, updates to documents might be required.
  • Help maintain the lab space, charger samples, and test tools and equipment.
  • Assist with open technical topics for testing and resolution.
  • Assist in reviewing, testing, and validating new charger equipment and/ or systems from various hardware vendors.
  • Assist in reviewing and ensuring accuracy of various EVSE manufacturer’s technical documentation.
  • Engage with designated vendors on the EVC network with a for engineering, testing, and quality review topics.

Desired Experience, Knowledge, Skills:

  • College Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Electric Vehicle charging.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a technical support, product quality and inventory management role.
  • Ability to triage and root cause technical issues.
  • Customer centric values.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70 E guidelines.
  • Must be able to install low voltage (240 v) cables.
  • Must be able to climb ladders.
  • Able to lift up and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Great written and oral communication skills.
