Technical Quality Service Technician – BESS
This is a very dynamic and fast-track position reporting to the Rework Manger. The position will be the key member of Technical Quality Team. This position will also be the main technical person to implement engineering change, software and hardware upgrade to the machines.
Responsibilities
- Perform and implement field upgrades (software/hardware) for PV and BESS systems per ECN requirements.
- Conduct hands-on electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair of inverters and system components in the field.
- Support service vendors during rework activities and lead on-site technical tasks as needed.
- Provide technical feedback to engineering teams to support design and quality improvements.
- Update and maintain SOPs related to engineering changes and field upgrades.
- Deliver training to service vendors to ensure consistent rework quality and procedures.
- Collaborate with CoE teams (US & China) during complex troubleshooting.
- Conduct site audits and inspections to monitor vendor workmanship and safety compliance.
- Prepare and submit detailed field reports for internal and customer review.
- Participate in technical proposal development by providing input on technical scope and effort estimates.
Interconnection Modeling Engineer
We are seeking an Interconnection Modeling Intern to support all interconnection modeling aspects of our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across North America. This role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, updating, and troubleshooting interconnection models for BESS products, ensuring alignment with utility and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to real-world power system modeling activities while gaining experience working closely with Sungrow’s Principal Engineer – Interconnection Modeling and the broader Technical Solution team.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with inverter-based resources, strong fundamentals in power system dynamics, and practical exposure to both software-based simulations and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing environments. This position plays a key role in executing key modeling tasks that directly support project approvals, system studies, and model validation efforts across multiple North American ISOs/RTOs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Interconnection Modeling Development and Support
- Assist in developing, maintaining, updating, and validating BESS interconnection models.
- Support power system studies such as short circuit, dynamic simulations, and transient stability analysis.
- Help with model testing, debugging, and validation activities.
Python Automation for Modeling & Simulation
- Develop Python scripts to automate PSCAD and PSS®E simulation workflows.
- Contribute to automation frameworks for benchmarking, packaging, and version control.
Interconnection Compliance and Approval Support
• Assist in preparing modeling deliverables for utility, ISO, and regulatory approval processes.
• Help review and interpret interconnection requirements across North American markets.
Model Benchmarking, Troubleshooting, and Quality Assurance
- Support benchmarking of PSCAD and PSS®E results with product specifications.
- Troubleshoot discrepancies in model responses.
- Review settings between product, EMT, and RMS models and ensure consistency.
Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Testing & Validation
- Build, operate, and maintain HIL testing environments for inverter-based resources.
- Develop and execute HIL test suites for unit-level model validation, including control logic, protection functions, and dynamic response.
- Analyze HIL test results and correlate hardware behavior with EMT and RMS simulation models.
Documentation & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Maintain clear documentation of modeling assumptions, validation results, and testing procedures.
- Collaborate with product engineering, field service engineering, project engineering, and application engineering teams.
- Support knowledge transfer and continuous improvement of internal modeling and testing practices.
- Assist with repository management for modeling artifacts and datasets.
Technical Quality Project Engineer
The Technical Quality Project Engineer is responsible for end-to-end rework program management, including detailed rework planning, materials forecasting and coordination, schedule alignment, and comprehensive tracking of all rework project deliverables to ensure timely and compliant execution. The position serves as the primary point of contact and responsible lead for all engineering change (rework) projects to ensure high-quality and on-schedule execution. This role works cross-functionally with Field Service, Procurement, Quality, and third-party partners to support Sungrow’s PV service operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact and assume end-to-end responsibility for engineering change (rework) projects, including planning, scheduling, dispatch coordination, and progress tracking.
- Provide technical support to both internal and external customers for engineering change projects.
- Communicate professionally via phone, email or meeting with customers or site PoC on escalated cases for engineering change projects.
- Provide overall engineer change status updates to management, HQ, internal teams and key customers.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, third-party service partners, and Field Service teams to support operational needs and issue resolution.
- Track and follow-up on quality issue from service vendors.
- Build, maintain, and track schedules and work plans for all engineering change and rework projects.
- Anticipate issues, escalate when needed, and resolve problems with minimal supervision.
- Work with finance team to verify unmatched vendor invoices and confirm alignment with the additional work hours provided onsite.
- Work well under pressure and demonstrate accountability for project deliverables and timelines.
- Manage multiple ongoing tasks and rework activities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to streamline workflows and improve operational processes.

Technical Quality Specialist
We are seeking a Technical Quality Specialist to support the Service Engineering team with data analysis, technical quality investigations, and engineering change (rework) document for Sungrow’s PV products.
This role is ideal for someone early in their engineering or quality career who enjoys analytical problem-solving, cross-functional teamwork, and hands-on exposure to real-world field issues. The TQ Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Technical Quality Engineering function through structured quality data analysis. Key duties include warranty performance tracking, spare-parts consumption analysis, identification of emerging quality trends, and preparation of preliminary quality alerts for escalation to the CoE and Field Service teams.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist with quality trending, including analyzing warranty tickets, component-level risks and recommending parts planning adjustments.
- Provide quality alert to CoE and field service team with contingency plans on solutions and materials.
- Assist in generating ad hoc data analysis for PV performance, failure trends, and component risks.
- Help to prepare weekly and monthly reports to management on findings and recommendations.
- Participate in on-site quality checks and provide training support to service vendors as needed.
- Assist with quality trending, including analyzing component-level risks and recommending parts planning adjustments.
- Prepare summaries of potential or emerging quality concerns and ongoing failure trends.
- Support communication with HQ teams to track RCA progress and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Track on all quality issues and push for deliverables for all stakeholders and eventually a engineering change(rework) release.
- Maintain records, reports, photos, and data related to engineering changes and field quality cases.

Spare Parts Coordinator
This role is responsible for managing spare parts, tool orders, equipment orders, and occasionally assist with dispatches placed by various teams efficiently, ensuring accurate entry, tracking, and detailed documentation of all parts-related activities. It involves validating orders, confirming correct part selection, and supporting field service and dispatch teams by providing timely updates on inventory levels and deliveries.
- Accurately process spare parts orders, including detailed entry of part numbers, descriptions, quantities, and delivery locations.
- Validate incoming parts requests from field service teams for accuracy before processing orders.
- Monitor order statuses to ensure on-time fulfillment and delivery.
- Maintain regular communication with vendors and suppliers to track order progress and address delays.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to maintain accurate inventory records and track usage rates.
- Provide field service and vendor management team with real-time updates on inventory levels and availability.
- Double-check orders to verify the correct parts and specifications.
- Resolve issues related to incorrect orders, including initiating returns or exchanges when necessary.

Operations Data Coordinator
The Operations Data Coordinator plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of operational data that supports renewable energy project delivery, field service coordination, and vendor management. This role ensures that data flowing through Airtable is clean, aligned, and audit ready. Working closely with vendor operations, compliance, IT, and field teams, the Coordinator is responsible for performing data audits, resolving inconsistencies, and driving improvements to data intake and validation workflows across multiple platforms.
