We are back with another REVERSE PITCH!

Sustainability startup supporters, investors, and other funders will be (virtually) pitching to YOU.

Attention Founders, co-founders, entrepreneurs, CFOs and business development leaders! We’re flipping the script, AGAIN! A couple dozen representatives from the entrepreneur support, investor, and banking community who prioritize sustainability and environmental solution businesses will be pitching to you. Find your funding match during this event.

WCS members who attend this event will get priority attention, however this event is open to all.

Those pitching will range from grantors and pre-seed investors to venture capitalist and angel investors to specialty banks. Each of these organizations prioritizes sustainability and the environment.

Meet the Investors

Pippa Gawley
Founding Partner, Zero Carbon Capital

Pippa is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Zero Carbon Capital (ZCC), a venture capital firm investing in early-stage European companies developing solutions for deep decarbonization. With a background in technology and innovation, including experience at eBay in the UK and Silicon Valley, she holds a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Cambridge. Under her leadership, ZCC has closed a £20 million fund to support European pre-seed and seed-stage companies aiming to reduce global carbon emissions. She is also actively involved in addressing diversity challenges within the venture capital and climate tech sectors.

Karen Sheffield
Founder & Managing Partner, Pachamama Ventures

Karen is the Founder and Managing Partner of Pachamama Ventures, a San Francisco-based venture capital firm investing in early-stage climate technology companies. With over 16 years of finance leadership experience at Fortune 100 companies, including American Airlines, PepsiCo, and Visa, Karen holds dual degrees in Finance and Economics from Texas Christian University and an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin. She is actively involved in mentoring and speaking engagements and is a member of organizations such as 100 Women in Finance, promoting diversity in the financial industry.

Dr. Sara T. Brand
Founding General Partner of True Wealth Ventures

Sara is the Founding General Partner of True Wealth Ventures, which she established in 2015. The firm invests in women-led companies focused on improving environmental and human health. Prior to this, Dr. Brand co-founded (512) Brewing Company and gained experience in venture capital and management consulting in the Bay Area. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in green design and manufacturing from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Mary King
Vice President, Aligned Climate Capital

Mary is the Vice President at Aligned Climate Capital, an asset management firm dedicated to decarbonizing the global economy. She brings extensive experience in climate finance and policy and has played a key role in driving the firm’s mission to support sustainable and impactful climate solutions. Prior to joining Aligned Climate Capital, Mary held positions that honed her expertise in environmental policy and sustainable investment. She earned her degree from Northeastern University, specializing in fields aligning with her current focus on climate-related initiatives.

Domitille Dubern
Senior Associate, Shift4Good

Domitille is a Senior Associate at Shift4Good, a venture capital fund dedicated to sustainable mobility and the circular economy. She has a Master’s degree in Engineering from ISEP and a Master’s in Management from ESSEC Business School. Domitille started her career in digital project management at the French Central Bank and then worked in the innovation department of SNCF’s rail freight division. In 2020, she transitioned into venture capital and joined Bpifrance’s Deeptech Venture Team, where she contributed to investments in over a dozen tech and deep tech companies across various sectors such as quantum computing, semiconductors, mobility, spacetech, agritech, medtech, and chemistry. At Shift4Good, Domitille focuses on investments in startups that promote sustainable mobility and environmental impact.

Victoria Pettibone
Chief Investment Officer, Astia

Victoria is the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and Managing Partner at Astia Fund, a venture capital firm dedicated to investing in women-led companies. Since joining Astia in 2013, she has been instrumental in managing the firm’s direct investment activities and overseeing its strategic direction. Victoria holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University. She is also an arts advocate, avid skier, scuba diver, former amateur pilot, and the mother of two.

Alicia Cha
Managing Partner, Anthropocene Ventures

Alicia is a seasoned venture capitalist and the Managing Partner at Anthropocene Ventures, a global early-stage VC firm focused on climate tech investments. Prior to this, she played a significant role in launching 8VC, a venture capital firm focusing on frontier technologies, and in establishing Brookfield’s $350 million venture capital fund targeting the built environment sector. With over three years of experience overseeing portfolio companies at 8VC, Alicia has demonstrated expertise in growth strategy and technology investments.

Aury Cifuentes
Senior Associate, How Women Invest

Aury is a Senior Associate at How Women Invest, a venture fund that supports female-led startups from Seed through Series B, focusing on sectors like climate, health, and the future of work. She evaluates startups using her extensive experience in fintech operations and management. Prior to this, she was an investor at Plug & Play, focusing on B2B SaaS startups in commerce, retail, and media. Aury previously worked at Bloomberg in New York City, focusing on scaling products for major financial institutions. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from The College of New Jersey and was president of the Women in Business student organization, highlighting her commitment to promoting diversity and empowering women in the business sector.

Rosemary Cox-Galhotra
Senior Technology Manager at Breakthrough Energy

Dr. Rosemary Cox-Galhotra is the Manager of Technology Management at Breakthrough Energy Fellows. She joined in 2022, bringing expertise in chemical engineering to support fellows in technical and commercialization aspects. Previously, she worked at Booz Allen Hamilton, supporting ARPA-E. In March 2024, she participated in a panel discussion at SXSW, focusing on sustainable aviation.
