The Mission Control Training Manager is to direct, provide guidance and oversight for the System Operator Training Programs for Electric Distribution Operations (EDO) and Electric Grid Operations (EGO) in producing and maintaining adequately trained, well qualified and competent operating personnel to ensure safe and reliable operation of the Electric Distribution and Transmission Systems and compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and NERC Reliability Standards. Directs training through Team leads, trainers and staff for System Operators.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of engineering designs, specifications, standards, studies, cost estimates and the development of sound technical recommendations, in support of projects and tasks managed by others within the department or other departments. Responsible for engineering calculations to solve problems for new facilities and repairs/modifications to existing facilities related to the SDGE electric and gas transmission/distribution system. Works on more complex projects than a lower-level engineer.
This role will have responsibilities related to Distribution Forecasting, Generation Interconnection Studies, System Impact Studies, and Integration Capacity Analysis (ICA).
Act as a strategic safety business advisor and consultant. Analyze safety trends, identify safety gaps, develop action plans to support company safety initiatives, work with clients to develop safety plans, and mitigate existing and potential hazards to prevent injuries. Provide health and safety support to internal and external stakeholders/clients. Participate in the incident review investigations. Review regulations, company procedures and training, and industry trends to develop effective corrective actions. Anticipate, recognize, evaluate and recommend controls for environmental and physical hazards that can affect the safety, health and well-being of employees, contractors and members of the public. Acts as primary client contact for safety.
To develop, coordinate, lead and administer the provision of complex legal services for an assigned Business Unit, under the direction of the General Counsel and in conjunction with Directors of various practice areas.
Manage Safety projects, training, assigned safety programs and basic ergonomic evaluations. Responsible for the management and development of project scope, budget, schedule and resource requirements. Independently, manage several concurrent projects, assignments and activities. Lead company safety programs including SMITH System driving, AED program, safety training and other programs assigned. Provide health and safety guidance to internal and external stakeholders/customers.
