Senior Engineer/Principal Engineer – Electric Distribution Engineering (Hybrid)

Subject matter expert for switch gear equipment. Normally designated as a lead engineer. As such, provides work direction to subordinate engineers and/or acts as a project leader over the more complex or major engineering projects and/or studies.

Lead Substation Project Designer (Hybrid)

Responsible for designing and coordinating the more complex electric system additions and modifications for electric transmission and distribution substation facilities. Participates in the preparation and conducts training programs for design/engineering personnel.

Engineer I (Hybrid)

Prepare or assist in the preparation of engineering designs, specifications, standards, studies, cost estimates and the development of sound technical recommendations, in support of projects and tasks managed by others within the department or other departments. Responsible for engineering calculations to solve problems for new facilities and repairs/modifications to existing facilities related to the SDGE electric and gas transmission/distribution system. Works on more complex projects than a lower level engineer.

Senior Counsel (Regulatory Law) (Hybrid)

To develop, coordinate, lead and administer the provision of complex regulatory law services for various business units, under the direction of the General Counsel and/or Assistant General Counsel.

Engineer I – Substation Project Engineer (Hybrid)

Market & Policy Analysis Manager (Hybrid)

Manages a group responsible for a broad range of policy and implementation issues including interfacing with CAISO and the CPUC, creating policy and implementing strategic decisions regarding CAISO/CPUC market policy and procurement related initiatives. Acts as the lead for interacting with CAISO on policy, initiatives and stakeholder issues related to CAISO market proceedings, and revisions to tariffs and operating procedures. Collaborates with Operations Manager and Electric and Fuel Trading Manager to monitor CAISO and CPUC rulings and implement regulations that govern operations in the CAISO market. Responsible for developing and drafting policy documents, comments on CPUC proceedings, strategic legislation and providing executive briefings on key items.

Transmission Lineman

Install, operate and maintain the Company’s electric transmission system under direct supervision; operate tools and equipment necessary to accomplish the work; perform other related duties as required or assigned. Work on wood, steel poles and towers up to 200 feet. Use of Live Line Tools on 12kV-500kV and rubber gloving method may be used up to 12kV. Bare Hand techniques may be utilized on 69kV-500kV. Work may be performed from structure or aerial lift truck. Will operate mechanized line truck or other trucks. Install, maintain and repair electric transmission and distribution OH lines and equipment up to 500 kV. Install, maintain and repair electric transmission and distribution UG Cable and equipment up to 230kV. Erect and climb poles and steel structures. Install crossarms, insulators, conductors, switches and other equipment.

Distribution Planning Manager (Hybrid)

Responsible for meeting regulatory requirements applicable to distribution planning and for implementing regulatory strategies necessary to meet the Company’s distribution planning objectives. Responsible for directing the performance of simulations and analyses that support (i) cost-effective expansion of SDGE’s distribution grid, and (ii) other objectives of the Company as permitted by applicable rules and regulations.

Transmission Operations Shift Supervisor

Has overall responsibility and authority for the real-time operations of the SDGE electric transmission system. Implements real-time actions to ensure the safe and reliable operation of that system and ensure compliance with NERC mandatory reliability standards. Has standing delegated authority from the Company to take whatever actions are necessary to ensure electric transmission system reliability. Such actions may include shedding of firm load to prevent or alleviate Transmission System operating emergencies.
