Position Opening: Operations Intern – VertueLab
VertueLab is looking to hire an intern to join our team! We are a non-profit in Portland, Oregon tackling the climate crisis. This role supports the organization’s database management, fundraising, and administrative efforts across all its programs. In addition to becoming familiar with non-profit operations and fundraising processes, the intern will have opportunities to learn database and CRM management, develop their prospect/donor research skills, and development/stewardship skills as we work to expand our organizational reach. The role requires a well-organized person with strong attention to details and data – a tech-savvy communicator with flexible personality, positive attitude, and willingness to learn. This is a remote position and the intern will report to the Finance and Operations Manager.
Manage aspects of the donor database including timely and accurate gift entry, production of acknowledgments, and reconciliation with the Finance team.
Research and identify prospects for fundraising asks and grants. Draft meeting framework documents using researched information once meetings move into being scheduled.
Create and maintain documentation on database structure and process framework for internal use.
Develop accurate and timely reports, queries and data segmentation and disaggregation for fundraising campaign analysis, quarterly grant and board reporting.
Program operational support and special projects as assigned.
Location: Work will be performed remotely utilizing online and video conferencing platforms such as Zoom and Google Meetup, Salesforce, Box, and other online platforms. Although this is a remote position, we are prioritizing students residing in Oregon at the moment.
The ideal intern should have the following skills/experience:
An interest in numbers, data, and visualization.
A personal alignment to tackle climate crisis and with VertueLab’s mission to unleash innovation and entrepreneurship that will solve environmental challenges and catalyze shared economic prosperity utilizing an equity lens.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to collaborate well with diverse audiences and peers in-person, phone, or digital
Ability to work independently, self motivated, and ability to handle multiple projects or assignments
Experience working within communities of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, google suite
Salesforce, Database or CRM skills or experience a plus
Bilingual is a plus
All VertueLab internships are paid $15 an hour with no additional benefits. We require at least a 15 to 20 hours commitment during the 9am-5pm workweek as agreed upon between company supervisor and the intern. This is a 1-year internship.
