Senior/Principal Engineer – Renewable Interconnections PE (Hybrid Schedule)
Normally designated as a lead engineer. As such, provides work direction to subordinate engineers and/or acts as a project leader over the more complex or major engineering projects and/or studies.
Transmission Engineering Designer (May be filled at higher level) (Hybrid)
Understand the principals of electric transmission line design and independently design smaller scale new lines or additions/modifications to existing Company electric transmission lines. Design large scale and complex designs with the support of senior designers and engineers.
Enterprise Architect (Hybrid Schedule)
The Enterprise Architect works with business stakeholders, technology leadership, and other architects to drive holistic technology implementation across Value Streams (i.e., a sets products, solutions, and services that deliver value to the customer) and Enablers (i.e., the activities needed to provide future business functionality, including infrastructure, security, and compliance activities). Relies on continuous feedback, fosters adaptive design and engineering practices, and drives collaboration between programs and teams around a common vision across each architectural domain (functional, application, data, infrastructure).
Develops end-to-end architecture approach, including strategy and vision, guiding principles, and standards, incorporating technology trends and business imperatives into the future state design. Maintains reference models and ensures that common architecture decisions are implemented consistently in order to support the business and IT strategy. Guides solution and domain architects across the organization on industry-leading practices, ensuring IT solutions align with enterprise architecture standards.
Principal Origination Analyst (Hybrid Schedule)
Responsible for leading and designing technical and financial models for evolving energy supply products and overseeing the modeling efforts of others in support of SDG&E’s $1 billion-plus power procurement program. This includes ensuring that the highly-complex Least-Cost, Best-Fit (LCBF) methodology is implemented effectively to manage important risks associated with CPUC approval of SDG&E’s energy procurement programs and considers the long-term implications of procurement decisions associated with the transforming energy supply industry. The Principal Origination Analyst is also responsible for making a clear and effective case for the appropriateness of the modeling approach taken, the mechanics of the evaluation, and the results of the analysis to SDG&E management and to senior level CPUC officials. Responsible for sworn testimony and will serve as the point person for procurement modeling issues in state regulatory proceedings. As the modeling subject matter expert, the Principal Origination Analyst will work closely with the Origination Director and Manager in the design of various power related Request for Offers (RFOs) needed to meet State mandates and the company’s Long-Term Procurement Plan.
Vehicle Operator A
Drive and operate various specialized vehicles and equipment related to construction operations and maintenance activities. Operates all types of crane vehicles in and around high voltage electrical equipment under the direct supervision of a qualified C&O Journeyman electrical worker. Transports and delivers all types of equipment and material to and from job sites. Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Engineer I/Senior Engineer – Electric System Hardening (Hybrid Schedule)
This position supports high profile program portfolios for SDG&E in the Electric System Hardening group. These programs have substantial impact on our customers, business practices, and company goals. This individual in this role may provide leadership and direction for complex or major engineering projects and/or studies.
Lead Substation Project Designer (Hybrid Schedule)
Responsible for designing and coordinating the more complex electric system additions and modifications for electric transmission and distribution substation facilities. Participates in the preparation and conducts training programs for design/engineering personnel.
Domain Architect – Cybersecurity (Hybrid Schedule)
The Domain Architect – Cybersecurity defines overall direction of architecture for cybersecurity, aligned to business strategy and enterprise architecture. Translates strategy into blueprints and designs for the overall architecture of the company’s cybersecurity capabilities to ensure that the balance between business outcomes and security risk is maintained. As a specialist in cybersecurity, facilitates and defines IT architecture solutions to define strategy. Owns and maintains standards, patterns, and guardrails. Acts as an advisor and expert to engage with engineering and product teams to drive security framework and best practices.
Specifically, this position is focusing on cybersecurity with extensive backgrounds in application security, embedded security, network penetration testing, reverse engineering, exploit development, risk management and related Information Security disciplines.
Transmission Lineman
- Must be a Journeyman Lineman possessing IBEW Journeyman Lineman status in good standing.
- Journeyman electrical worker that has completed an accredited apprenticeship program required.
- Must be able to do heavy manual labor lifting a minimum of 60-75 pounds.
- Will be required to work on steel and wood structures.
- Prior climbing experience is required.
- Must have demonstrated ability to absorb formal training and schooling.
- Must demonstrate & maintain good safety habits.
- Will be required to obtain & maintain a Class A CA Driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) card.
