Service Engineer

SPAN is growing fast and we’re looking for a Service Engineer to support our technically-minded installers and non-technical homeowners. This role involves driving the resolution of technically challenging and diverse issues in the field; as such it requires a generalist’s mindset and an eagerness to learn and develop broad expertise of SPAN’s products, across hardware and software. A SPAN Service Engineer is patient, empathetic, and eager to drive process and product improvements to ensure an excellent customer experience.

Staff Power Electronics Engineer

SPAN’s Power Electronics group is seeking an experienced and driven power electronics engineer to be instrumental in the development of market-leading converter hardware through all stages of the product’s lifecycle. In this role, candidates will drive efforts to optimize our partner’s power systems integrated with SPAN’s panel, grow SPAN’s IP, and collaborate with software, firmware, controls, and mechanical teams to implement technologies that electrify the home and delight our customers. Candidates should be comfortable and excited to grow a team of highly skilled embedded systems, power electronics, and magnetics-focused electrical engineers to advance SPAN’s product portfolio.

Senior Reliability Engineer

SPAN is seeking an experienced and driven mechanical or electrical engineer to lead the reliability program for SPAN through all stages of development. In this role, you will rely on your experience to develop a comprehensive reliability test program for new products and support any reliability issues that arise in the field. You will work with the electrical, mechanical, and systems teams to implement test plans, build out our in-house testing capabilities, and work with outside labs as needed. As the company grows, you will build out and manage our reliability team.

Lab Support Engineer

SPAN’s Lab Support Engineering team is a cross-functional group supporting the SPAN engineering organization across the board. We have two main missions: (1) design and create prototypes and test infrastructure, and (2) create and run a shared workshop for users of the Labs.

Lead Manufacturing Test Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and driven manufacturing test engineer who will be the point person on a mixed internal/external team supporting the technical development and implementation of manufacturing test infrastructure for SPAN products at our contract manufacturing sites. As a key engineer working on manufacturing test, you will lead the effort to scale up Span’s manufacturing test capability from low- to high-volume manufacturing, drawing on your prior experience in manufacturing test to help us ramp quickly and smoothly to meet the growing demand for Span’s products.

Device Software Engineer

As an engineer on the Device Software team, you will define and implement new features directly related to SPAN’s hardware products. Hardware products are central to SPAN’s business and writing firmware for even our smallest microcontrollers means working on something that directly affects the user experience. The team is small and you will own large user-facing features from conception through implementation, working independently to bring them to completion. Our goal is to hire friendly, smart engineers who like to work on in collaborative teams to solve complex problems. Ownership and autonomy are large and you can expect to work directly with the product, software, and hardware teams to ensure the right things get built.

Salesforce Administrator & Architect

SPAN develops innovative technologies that support an electrified future and give homeowners unprecedented levels of control over their home energy usage.

The SPAN Panel—our flagship product—is a “smart” replacement for the 100-year-old electrical panel found in most homes, allowing for circuit-level monitoring and control from any iOS or Android device. When combined with solar and battery storage, our panel offers the best home backup solution available on the market.

SPAN Drive—our newest accessory—is the fastest universal EV charger currently available and a monumental achievement in the residential tech space.

Given our strong commercial traction we are rapidly scaling our sales team, and are looking for a smart, motivated, and experienced CRM Admin & Architect. As an early member of the SPAN Sales Ops team, you will have the opportunity to architect our Salesforce CRM from the ground up, enabling simple processes and productivity for our sales team.

Backend Software Engineer

We are seeking a backend software engineer to join our team building the cloud-based glue that gives our users access to the rich information and controls provided by the Span Panel. Our system collects a large volume of energy monitoring data that needs to be stored, processed, and exposed in different ways for different end-users. We’re also opening up never before available levels of control of the energy in the home that need to be accessed in secure and easy-to-use APIs.

You’ll join our cloud software engineering team and work with other engineers including mobile, device (firmware), and systems software teams. Working with the team you’ll lead the design and implementation of systems that integrate our hardware, mobile apps, dashboards, and external APIs. You’ll work with product owners and other engineers to build features from start to finish. Since the team is small you’ll quickly become the go-to person for features you work on.
