Directly responsible for management of all Alabama site Wastewater and Recycling operations, including module recycling plant (RCY), Ultra-Pure Water Plant (UPW), Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), site waste management (WM), and laboratory (LAB) operations, maintenance and improvement whilst optimizing cost, enhancing operation efficiency, and achieving high standard of EHS and quality. Ensures that his/her team performs in accordance with First Solar’s Core Values and within the fully compliant local and federal regulations.
Oversee operations of a development production line for Photovoltaic coupons and/or E-plates in accordance with required quality standards and in a cost-efficient manner. Development line runs multiple different process flows with multiple process skews. Responsibility for line output and cycle time including continuous improvement and strategy to adapt to future needs. Oversight of maintenance, cutting and operations.

Facilitate procurement for global, cross-functional teams for resulting in procurement decisions delivering the highest quality, reliability, and value to meet First Solar requirements. Develop strong business relationships and strategic alliances to support First Solar’s growth plan.
Basic Job Functions:
- Serve as internal subject-matter expert for industrial synthesis of chemical compounds required for organic and organic-inorganic hybrid optoelectronic devices.
- Develop the supply chain for cost-competitive manufacturing of halide-perovskite solar panels in high volume.
- Collaborate closely with First Solar’s perovskite cell, module, and equipment teams in Santa Clara, California, and Perrysburg, Ohio
- Stay current on latest academic literature regarding perovskite photovoltaics, with a focus on materials and material purity.
