Transaction Execution Manager (1011561)

The Manager, Commercial Transactions is a senior individual contributor that supports First Solar’s Americas Global Business Development team by negotiating, executing, and managing customer-facing sales contracts that support First Solar objectives for bookings and profitability while balancing, commercial, legal and execution risk. Principal customer facing agreements include Module Sale Agreements but also include various post-contract instruments (for example; change orders, amendments, assignments, notices of default, force majeure notices). This position works closely with the origination and fulfilment teams and is the principal customer interface responsible for negotiating contracts and post-contract documentation that align with First Solar’s commercial objectives, execution capabilities, and that achieve consistency with commercial and risk management guidelines.

The Manager, Commercial Transactions interacts extensively with First Solar Vice Presidents and Directors, the legal team and all relevant subject matter experts and is responsible for obtaining cross-functional buy-in on the compromises necessary to secure and maintain the business and for ensuring that the fulfillment teams are aware of the commercial obligations in the contracts.

Manager – Continuous Improvement – Integrated Supply Chain

This person will be responsible for business process improvements within the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) and will operate as a business analyst and project leader for both procedure change management, process, and technology continuous improvement initiatives.  As such, part of the responsibilities will be to manage process analysis and lead teams across the ISC to implement appropriate changes that resolve process and technology gaps, and/or drive efficiency improvements. This person will interact with cross functional peers across First Solar to aid with root cause analysis in identified inefficient and or broken processes. This person will also be responsible for leading system implementations, managing metrics and reporting.

Head – Internal Audit

The Head of Internal Audit leads the global Internal Audit function in performing audits to independently assess the effectiveness of First Solar’s internal controls over financial reporting, operational effectiveness, technology security (cyber), and compliance requirements consistent with the expectations of FS executive leadership and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.

This role is also responsible for leading the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, including defining its structure and working with our executive and functional leadership to proactively identify and mitigate risks that could adversely affect the enterprise. As part of the ERM program, the head of Internal Audit is also responsible for leading special assessments, evaluations and other advisory engagements intended to assist FS leaders in understanding the risk profiles of unique scenarios or activities.

Supply Chain Engineer – Chemistry

Basic Job Functions:

  • Serve as internal subject-matter expert for industrial synthesis of chemical compounds required for organic and organic-inorganic hybrid optoelectronic devices.
  • Develop the supply chain for cost-competitive manufacturing of halide-perovskite solar panels in high volume.
  • Collaborate closely with First Solar’s perovskite cell, module, and equipment teams in Santa Clara, California, and Perrysburg, Ohio
  • Stay current on latest academic literature regarding perovskite photovoltaics, with a focus on materials and material purity.
