IT System Administration – Senior/Specialist

The Information Technology Services Office (ITSO) within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill an IT System Administration – Senior/Specialist position. This position is located in our Headquarters Office in Lacey, WA. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

As Ecology’s Enterprise Microsoft 365 System Administrator Senior within the Infrastructure and Operations section of the Information Technology Services Office, you will manage, support, and administer the Microsoft 365 suite, including SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and Power Platform. In this role, you will have hands-on opportunities for planning and implementing upgrades, and migrations from on-premises systems to the cloud, along with managing user accounts and providing technical support to end-users. A key aspect of this role is the continual learning and growth in Microsoft cloud products, staying current with industry trends, and taking a leadership role in projects. 

We are looking for applicants who have a background in setting expectations and guiding skilled technical staff in successfully achieving objectives while also influencing and collaborating with other technical staff and key agency stakeholders. This is a critical and demanding role that calls for an innovative, resourceful individual. The systems and services you will support is relied upon daily by over 2000 employees based in 10 locations statewide.

Program Mission: The Information Technology Services Office (ITSO) is the central provider of strategic and tactical support for the use of Information Technology (IT) within Ecology. The mission of ITSO is to create and support useful technology services that adapt for the future and support Ecology’s mission.

IT Customer Support – Entry (two positions)

The Department of Ecology’s Information Technology Services Office (ITSO) is currently looking to fill two IT Customer Support – Entry positions. These positions will be located in our Headquarters (HQ) Building in Lacey, WA. This is a great opportunity for growth for a support tech in an Entry level position. There will be plenty of opportunity to learn from your peers and advance your skills. Ecology has a broad range of IT positions with many promotional opportunities.

In this role, you will provide primary tier 1 technical support to Ecology business customers as well as direct and escalate other tickets in our ticketing system. You will monitor our tickets, assist customers with IT hardware, Audio Visual equipment and Software issues. You will also use a number of technology tools including; Active Directory, Team Viewer, Jira Service Management and Asset Panda.
