Materials Engineer – Natick, Massachusetts, United States

We’re looking for a Materials Engineer to join our Materials Design Team, focusing on materials selection and materials degradation to promote long lifetime industrial water electrolyzers. You will select materials to meet the specifications of the aggressive environments within waters electrolyzers, develop ex situ tests to inform materials selection, determine material lifetime, perform root cause failure analysis to ensure peak performance of Electric Hydrogen’s main technology. You will work onsite and report into the Sr Facilities Engineer. You will support the design and commissioning of the electrical systems for an electrolyzer manufacturing and testing plant.

You must be comfortable working with medium voltage incoming service feeders, distribution to individual pieces of manufacturing equipment, and all layers in between.

As a Control Systems Technician, you will carry out assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems infrastructure and equipment. You will be responsible for both low-voltage control wiring and higher-voltage power wiring and will work on a variety of internally-developed and third-party systems and machines. You will work closely with Controls Engineers on the Manufacturing team, as well as both technicians and engineers from a variety of adjacent working groups.

Metrology & Characterization Engineer – Devens, MA

We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Metrology and Characterization Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. As a Metrology and Characterization Engineer you will invent, develop, improve, validate and scale up inspection tools and methods for our electrolyzer manufacturing processes. You will work within the engineering team responsible for product and process development lifecycles, and accelerate our launch into manufacturing.

You will be a necessary enabler of product and process quality by working with different groups at the company to develop inspection points across our manufacturing processes. You will dive into the technical details of the product to develop inspection methods and the metrology equipment needed to perform these inspections at scale. Your contributions will ensure we are manufacturing a safe product.

You will be in Devens, MA and reporting to the Manager of Manufacturing Process Engineering. This is an onsite position with some travel necessary to other sites.

Process Development Engineer – Thin Films – Devens, MA

As a Process Development Engineer – Thin Films, you will help develop and implement thin films needed to make an electrolyzer. You will split your time between enabling our current manufacturing processes, creating the processes of the future, and working with R&D for upcoming projects. You will work with team members from the design, research, manufacturing, and test teams to design future process flows. You will improve standard operating procedures for the variety of build processes it takes to build an electrolyzer, and maintaining a quality system that documents problems and drive root cause identification and corrective actions. As part of the process development team, a growing area within a dynamic company, you will not only work on tasks to make sure we achieve our short-term targets, but also to help us build towards our larger manufacturing goals. Daily tasks can and will be varied; our work will be focused around our goal of enabling deep decarbonization. Ideal candidates for this role have experience in a manufacturing environment or working with high-tech assemblies. The Process Development Engineer – Thin Films role is safety-focused and committed to working in a collaborative team environment to achieve manufacturing goals.

Mechanical Assembler – Devens, MA

The Assemblers/Machine Operators role is responsible for processing materials, operating equipment, hand assembly of sub-components, and stack assembly. Ideal candidates for this role possess a background in manufacturing assembly lines. To ensure success as an assembly operator, you should have meticulous attention to detail and be able to spot the smallest imperfections in products. Wet Lab Technician CCM Production – Devens, MA

As a Coating Technician, you will be responsible for daily operation and maintenance of the coating equipment in the production of a decal for MEA assembly. You will work with a Lead Technician to execute daily task, assist with development trials, track inventory, provide data and record keeping. You will also work closely with other teams to achieve manufacturing goals.

In this role, you will work between the design engineering teams and the product management and sales teams to define product strategy and configure our products for sites across the country and around the world. In the strategic capacity, you will look at the full range of factors which impact the levelized cost of hydrogen and analyze the ability of our products to achieve the lowest possible cost across the full range of locations and markets under consideration for future project. You will use this analysis to inform design direction and sales strategy. In the configuration capacity, you will define how to best configure our currently available designs for specific customers.

We’re looking for a technical writer to support the engineering and product teams efforts to create commissioning manuals, O&M manuals, work instructions, and more. You will be the first technical writer hire for this team and you will take an important role in developing the processes, templates, and structure of technical writing at Electric Hydrogen. Test Engineering

As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for performing electrical builds of electrolysis test equipment, facility integration of test equipment, and maintenance/upkeep of the equipment and associated tools. You will be responsible for both high and low voltage electrical panel wiring, component procurement, and documentation on various types of internally designed test equipment. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who will work on Electric Hydrogen’s Prototype Plant – our first large-scale electrolysis system – located in San Carlos, CA. You will develop novel design iterations for the electrolyzer balance of plant using your knowledge of fluid and gas processing systems. You will report into the Manager of Test Engineering.

Senior Test Engineer – Natick, Massachusetts, United States

We are looking for a hands-on Test Engineer with fluid systems experience in a research lab or pilot plant environment. You have a Swiss army knife of skills with many more tricks up your sleeve. You take great satisfaction in watching a test stand you just spent a week debugging, leak testing, and struggling with operate perfectly. You welcome feedback from scientists about how to make your test equipment even better. You coolly analyze data to provide information-driven decisions when your test hardware is down. Your experience has taught you to be cautious about the promised performance of products and always think about how components will fail. You know where to purchase things. You may even know vendors on a first name basis. You have opinions about vendors and products that no one outside of work wants to talk about.

No two days will be the same. You will have multiple test stations running simultaneously that you have to worry about and take care of. You will be continually commissioning new test hardware. You might be reconfiguring hardware to put together quick and dirty test rigs to answer scientific questions. You will be asked a hundred questions a day by scientists, engineers, and technicians. When you have time you will be visualizing the future of the lab and getting ready for that future by purchasing things.
