Director of Solution Sales | Dylan Green | Remote

The client brings a wide range of power generation, power supply, renewable energy, and sustainability offerings to its customers. The Director of Solution Sales will be responsible for managing national customer accounts and maximizing all opportunities within those accounts to achieve sales goals determined by the management team. Specifically, the Director of Solution Sales will sell a behind-the-meter offering that includes energy efficiency, energy management, EV charging services, resiliency-as-a-service, utility bill management, and sustainability reporting. Key target customer segments for the offering includes automotive, retail, senior living, healthcare, school districts, universities, and other facilities. In addition to generating new leads, the Director of Solution sales will leverage existing customer relationships within the organization to achieve sales goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Originate new opportunities for behind-the-meter solutions with customers in target sectors
  • Act as the main point of contact between the company and the customer for the client’s new offering as well as other products
  • Drive growth by originating leads, closing deals, supporting existing clients, formulating sales strategies, and communicating product value to clients
  • Achieve sales goals determined by the management team
  • Assess needs and present solutions to C-suite prospects that include the full product and service offering, retail power, demand response, solar (rooftop, offsite, PPA/VPPA, etc.), onsite generation, and energy efficiency
  • Negotiate contracts with large customer accounts including resolution of contract issues in collaboration with Legal ∙ Help manage the interface with other internal departments in the resolution of business issues, as required

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

  • 7-10 years’ experience selling complex energy solutions (e.g., energy efficiency, energy management, solar, demand response, cogeneration, etc.) to large national accounts
  • Retail energy sales experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience selling complex energy solutions (e.g., energy efficiency, energy management, solar, demand response, cogeneration, etc.) to large national accounts
  • Demonstrate ability to negotiate terms and conditions of energy and energy-related services contracts
  • In-depth knowledge of the energy industry and behind-the-meter solutions
  • Ability to evaluate holistic customer needs and present a comprehensive suite of solutions to address those needs
  • Strong presentation, interpersonal, analytical, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
  • Ability to think strategically as well as understand the practical, day-to-day implementation requirements for successful customer engagements
  • Ability to resolve conflicts among internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with MS PowerPoint and Salesforce
