Director of Project Finance | Metrus Energy | Remote

The Director of Project Finance will play a leading role in the development and implementation of innovative financing structures that catalyze the growth and drive the profitability of Metrus’ sustainable energy financing platform. We are seeking a candidate with a track record of developing and closing structured finance deals, preferably in the energy efficiency, renewable energy or equipment leasing sector. The successful candidate will immediately take on a diverse set of strategic and operational roles, including making direct contributions to deal closings, pricing & credit decisions, financing structures, and contract negotiations. This role will report directly to the CFO.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Identifying and implementing innovative financing structures for Metrus’ sustainable energy as a service platform
• Negotiating and closing structured finance deals, and arranging third-party financing within the clean energy investment community
• Owning, building, and managing both project-level and Portfolio Cash Flow models, Leading project debt closings and providing internal guidance on project pricing and credit risk analysis
• Identifying and implementing project equity funding strategies
• Assisting corporate fundraising activities
• Identifying and implementing operational efficiency improvements across project management platform
• Making meaningful contributions to project development and sales
• Manage direct reports on finance team

Qualifications

• Strong finance and project finance experience, with experience in renewable energy a plus
• Track record of negotiating and closing structured finance deals and arranging third-party financing, ideally within the clean energy investment community
• Strong attention to detail and ability to own, build, and manage project and corporate-level financial models. Excellent excel modeling skills required
• Strategic and creative thinking abilities, which will bring insight and innovation to the company’s operations and financing solutions
• Experience in energy, financial services or real estate industries is strongly preferred; network of investor contacts a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively and represent Metrus professionally in all aspects
• Strong interdepartmental communication and ability to contribute to sales initiatives
• Ability to manage heavy workload in fast-paced start-up environment with limited oversight
• Experience managing staff and/or project teams preferred
• Exceptional presentation, communication and writing skills
• A Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of relevant or equivalent work experience preferred
