Role Objective

Help manage Angaza’s finances and data to enable operational excellence during a period of rapid growth and expansion.

Role Summary

You will be a member of the finance team reporting to the Director of Finance, but you will also work closely with Angaza’s business intelligence team.  You will have a range of responsibilities at the intersection of finance, accounting, and data analytics. A typical day may involve responding to customer or internal data requests, conducting account reconciliations, or helping to improve our billing infrastructure. You will take a leading role in documenting Angaza’s finance processes to keep them robust as we rapidly scale. You will work cross-functionally on a regular basis, frequently interacting with business intelligence, sales, customer success, marketing, engineering, and operations.

Responsibilities 

  • Become familiar with Angaza’s data infrastructure and respond to complex data requests to drive decision making and support finance/billing operations
  • Perform advanced accounting tasks:
    • Understand ASC 606 and manage monthly revenue recognition process
    • Own the account reconciliation process
    • Create journal entries for allocation of department expenses
    • Handle intercompany consolidation
  • Perform financial forecasting and modeling
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve finance processes and data infrastructure
  • Develop documentation to provide financial guidance and strengthen internal controls

Required Experience

  • BA/BS in business, finance, accounting, computer science, mathematics, or related field
  • 2+ years of work experience; startup, tech, SaaS, and B2B software experience a plus
  • Strong finance and accounting skills; ASC 606 experience a plus
  • Proficiency with data queries and SQL
  • Familiarity with Python and reviewing code preferred
